UNACTO's Youth SDG Action Award was created in the spirit of the Canadian Youth Policy to support the achievement of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and Youth 2030 Strategy.
Youth within the GTA are a catalyst for change locally and globally. This award recognizes those in our community working to build a sustainable future.
Our first ever award ceremony takes place in April 2020!
Youth that overcame social obstacles while seizing opportunities to call those in power to action.
Youth that leverages their 21st-century skills to impact the community at large.
Youth developing a technology solution to tackle one of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Youth demonstrating strong leadership skills towards implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Rules and Regulations
Nominees (either as an individual or in a group) must be 15 to 24 years old from Toronto or GTA.
All nominations must be submitted using the online nomination form.
Self-nominated entries will be disqualified. Nominations may be made by any persons or group who can attest to an entrant's qualifications for such an award.
We reserve the right to move an entry to a different category if the entry is better suited to that category.
Each winner is expected to accept their award on stage at the awards ceremony. By attending any of our events, you acknowledge that you will be photographed/recorded and that UNACTO may use your likeness for distribution and promotion purposes.
All entries become the permanent property of the UNACTO Youth SDG Action Award organizers.
At any point in the Contest, an entrant may be disqualified at the discretion of the Award Committee if the entrant is unable to meet the requirements in a timely manner. This may include being unavailable for interviews or fact-checking. Entrants may also be disqualified, or Award will be retrieved if it is determined that the nomination form misrepresents the entrant’s achievements.
