Eric Cheng is currently an LL.M. candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School. Eric initially completed his legal studies at Exeter and Oxford Universities and his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto. During his Articling (legal training)placement at the United Nations Secretariat (New York), he served both Disciplinary and Appeals Units of the Administrative Law Section, which is organized under the Office of Human Resources Management of the Department of Management. While at Osgoode, he has organized the Toronto Group, a joint Osgoode Hall/University of Toronto graduate conference and served as a Senior Editor for the Osgoode Hall Review of Law and Policy. He has also contributed to several international human rights projects that have variously involved a Canadian Crown corporation, human rights defenders in West Africa, and is currently contributing to an international study on Transnational Business Governance Interactions studying regulatory trends affecting Canadian foreign aid in Peru. Eric has worked extensively in Europe and China, and his representative work includes managing client mandates at the European Parliament and a UN Human Rights treaty body. Eric's research has been presented at national and international conferences in the areas of transnational mining regulation, CSR/business and human rights, Canadian foreign aid policy and indigenous rights.
